Club Rules

As with every club with a responsibility to it’s members we have a set of rules which we ask members to adhere to when attending club meetings, but before you do we feel it important for you to review these here:

  • The Club is called Chorley Fun Dog Agility Training Club and its objectives are to provide facilities for the training of large dogs over a year of age and small to medium dogs from 6 months of age in a fun agility class;
  • The Club consists of the Owners/Trainers and other Committee members;
  • The Club is managed by Vanessa, Miriam, Lucien and Sammy;
  • Club insurance fees shall be paid annually. The insurance fees will be set by the Management. Any non-paid-up members will not be allowed to partake in any of the classes. It is up to the member to ensure their insurance fees are paid, but a renewal reminder may be sent where possible;
  • Training subscriptions will be paid every month in advance. Fees are due regardless of whether the member attends or not. Fees are paid to secure your place. Non-payment of fees may result in the member losing their place at the club. The Committee members reserve the right to amend these fees without notice;
  • Non-attendance for four consecutive weeks or more without explanation will result in the membership being revoked. Any membership and training fees paid will not be reimbursed;
  • The management reserves the right to expel, with immediate effect, any member of the club, withholding any paid-up fees, for:
    – discreditable conduct;
    – where a dog is deemed disruptive or dangerous to the rest of the club.
  • Only dogs that are new to agility are allowed to join, Chorley Fun Dog Agility Club are here to promote agility as a fun hobby and stimulus for the dog, we do not compete. If you and/or your dog are a member of another club or if you have joined to gain extra training to the benefit of your dog competing with/for another club, you will be asked to leave;
  • As part of the club all members are expected to provide assistance with the running of the club such as, but not limited to, setting up/removing equipment, cleaning up where required and helping to promote the club at any charity displays etc;
  • Membership fees are kept low and the Management are volunteers. The fees are used to pay for the rental of the arena. Any spare funds accumulated by the club is used for buying, repairing or replacing equipment;
  • The club shall not be liable / responsible for:
    – any injury occurring to either dog or owner/handler whilst using equipment provided by the club or injuries caused as a direct result of the owner/handler’s neglect, this is solely the responsibility of the owner/handler;
    – any injury occurring to either dog or owner/handler due to a dog-on-dog incident, this is solely the responsibility of the owners/handlers whose dogs have been involved.
  • Large dogs will need to be at least 12 months old and small and medium dogs will need to be at least 6 months old to be able to join the club and come to training;
  • Dogs must be on a lead and under control at all times unless on the course. When you are on the course it is at the trainer’s discretion whether your dog will be allowed to run off lead or not;
  • Bitches in season or any dog that has knowingly been in contact with any contagious diseases within 14 days of a training session will be excluded from the club a minimum of 21 days. During the exclusion period training fees will still apply;
  • All Members are asked arrive on time. It would be appreciated if members could arrive 15 minutes early to help set up and remain behind to clear away;
  • Please keep to a maximum of 2 people per dog for safety and to prevent over-crowding of the arena;
  • Cameras and/or video equipment will be allowed. NOTE: If you do not wish to be included in any photographic or video material, please ask the person taking the material to exclude you or let a member of the Committee know to assist with your exclusion.
  • The owner/handler is responsible for cleaning up after their dog. ALL dog ‘foulings’ must be removed from the arena and disposed of correctly in designated bins. The owner/handler of any dog that urinates against the walls or any of the agility equipment must spray the area with a disinfectant provided.
  • Once you become a member of the club you will be invited to join our WhatsApp “Flyers” group. This is a member only light hearted group chat for photos, stories and general chit chat. It will be used to advise members of any last minute club news such as club training cancellations due to weather etc. The group strictly does not allow business advertising of any sort.
  • And finally….we all like cake!!! If it’s your or your dog’s birthday, you’ll be very popular if you bring some 😂 🧁.

You must attend a free evening to see if dog agility is for you and your dog.
